Yumin Shi, a 24-year-old violinist, is also a master of ceremony. He has hosted more than 150 concerts and ceremonies in his hometown Shanghai, China. In 2021, Yumin graduated as a Bachelor from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, with a first place in violin playing and the title of Extraordinary Graduate of Shanghai. In 2023, he got his Master degree with distinction from Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in the class of violin virtuoso Massimo Quarta along with full marks in his repertoire exam. Currently he studies with Rudolf Koelman, one of the last disciples of Jascha Heifetz, in Zürcher Hochschule der Künste as a Specialized Master of Orchestra.
Since September 2022, he has been the Associate Concertmaster of the newly founded Sinfonisches Orchester Schweiz. Since September 2023, he has been playing as an intern in Philharmonia Zürich, tutored by its first concertmaster Ms. Ada Pesch. He is also pursuing the art of conducting in the class of Pro. Marc Kissóczy in ZHdK.
During the years, Yumin has shared the stage with violin virtuoso Roby Lakatos and Aleksey Igudesman. He has also received musical advices from Pavel Berman, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Oleg Krysa, Regis Pasquier, Paul Roczek and Michael Vaiman.
